This is a really interesting concept! I like how you've picked out the certain parts of the letters that seem the most important. The super light blue and grey work great on the black background! My only questions would be as to the sections of the letters displaced out of the letters, will they be used as a secondary element? I think you could really incorporate some nice things with them, zoomed in off your letterhead would be really interesting to see! Also are you using 2 different blues? It seems like a deeper blue on the first image and a lighter one on the business card?
I was thinking of using just the highlighted pieces from my initials throughout my resume and whatnot. As for the different blues, they are the same but it might be a glare on the mock up itself.
T - The deconstruction approach is unique and quite interesting. The trick will be to have these "sections" work together when they are outside of the entire design. Visually, what do they tell us about you? Do they have a particular relationship to each other? Are you establishing Rhythm, Balance, Contrast and/or Unity? Are you expressing a second level of understanding in this brand design, beneath the obvious? Can they seem to be animated, and regroup into another word? Can this deconstruction happen before our eyes?
These questions are not meant to divert you into another direction, but instead to encourage you think about what is next down this same path. I think this is quite nice, and wonder if you'll take another conceptual step or stay here. It's up to you.
