Redds Advertising Campaign

Here is my advertising campaign for Redds apple ale, I included the 3 flavors that they are actually advertising now and have in their variety pack. I know there is some minor photoshop work that I need to address. So any input on the general idea would be great.

I have 3 one page magazine adds and then a long banner to be placed on sides of busses and can be placed inside on adds on the train or bus. Thoughts?

  1. C - The sumptuous imagery in your magazine ads is clearly where the design strength lies in this series. So, any photoshop work needed will be time well spent... we definitely want to look at the giant fruit behind the glass of ale. Would you consider adding water droplets to this fruit, so the fruit looks as fresh and crisp as the glass of ale?

I wonder if there might be other solutions beyond having both logos sitting so closely together in the composition. One is smaller on the glass, and the other is just a step away sitting on the background. They are so similar it leads me to think having both is simply redundant.

Have you considered if you need both? And if so, maybe the one on the glass could move up at a 90 degree angle along the glass. Or, maybe it should appear to be ghosted on the glass, almost transparent, so we discover it as our eyes move around the design. Something needs to shift, so we aren't offered the visual x2.

The bus ad seems to lack the boldness and strength of the magazine ads. And yet, here you say "Be Bold"... so, how could you revisit this and capture some of that boldness? Enlarge the fruit behind 1 bottle (tilted at an angle, so we see most, or all, of the bottle rather than a series of bottle caps)? You need to be more bold with this design, in my opinion... or drop it from the campaign because it might detract from the other successes.

It's a challenge to repurpose a good design in a new format... but keep thinking because I think you have some options here that could improve that very horizontal design.
