hey everyone, here is a look of my self branding, I've been working on self branding sins last quarter. I wanted to create a personal identity that represented where i came from to where i am going. So this past summer my aunt came to visit to the U.S.A for the first time and i found out that she was the one who wrote my name in my birth certificate, so i asked her to write it again and this is how i came concept of my logo which it represent where i came from. To show where i am going it was pretty simple i travel everyday on subway to get into the greats city in the world, so i had found this great image on a free stock website and i ask permission to use it .
But truly i am thinking of pushing this branding some more by taking a picture of different place in boston and placing them in the brand so that when i give a business card to someone it would be a different place.

Very clean. Right to the point. Love the color. Correct me if I'm wrong but did you start with darker color? I think this looks lighter than what I saw in the beginning. Overall its very well put together.
ReplyDeleteNo is the same color this is how it looks in rgb mode
DeleteJose - the display of this work gets a bit muddy on the colored background. I would think white would be the best way to show this to its advantage. Of course I know these projects are "stand alone" and will actually be printed and used as physical items... but if/when you display this again, drop the background color in favor of white.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant idea of using Boston photos in the design to take advantage of variable printing techniques through moo.com and other printers that offer this. Have you considered using duotones rather than simple grayscale photos?
Logo - the concept and narrative of this personal brand is compelling... and I encourage you to find a way to "tell" this story visually and/or in written form as part of your brand. Most viewers will assume it's your signature... and that isn't even much of a concept, really. So - your challenge is to find a way, as a visual designer, to make us understand the history and significance of this.
Resume - I suggest you flip the layout structure so we see your logo top left. Find a way to reduce the content in the Experience and Education column so that it sits down further on the page... your logo should be the highest element on the page.
You do realize that black envelopes are not allowed through the US Postal Service, yes? They can't be "cancelled" nor can they be hand addressed (how many people have white pens?)... so what else can you do?
Great creative work.
