Ad Campaign

Here is my latest idea for my Valspar Ad Campaign. I will bring it in actually folded up to our next class but it is a mailer.

As most of you remember probably I did 3 ads for Valspar with the tagline "Exactly what you were looking for" ... this piece is based on "For the Artist in You" tagline. This piece would be folded up and mailed quarterly to households and each time it would focus on a different era in art, this one is based on Post-Impressionist Era (1880-1910) and inside you will see parts of the art pieces along with Valspar colors that can be found within the piece... they are presented as the "Post Impressionist Collection" I will make 3 more once the design is laid out that focus on different art eras. There is also a contest tied into it to give a call to action to the audience.

  1. Looks great! I think the first spread is spot on with picking out the main colors from the paintings and the idea to mash fine art with a modern material (valspar paint) is very clever. It is a little hard to make out the second spread but I think I can see where it will go when folded so looking forward to seeing that! I would say to watch where you cut the words as some are illegible (which may be your intention) but if its not I would just try to make them a little more understandable to someone who may not be familiar. (Sorry if that doesn't make sense!)

  2. Amanda - a great concept that helps you extend the initial small advertising project into a more complete marketing campaign.

The rhythmic, little squares of color that display the individual color palettes of the paintings are particularly appropriate.

Are you asking for the artists' names or the names of the paintings? I'm going to assume the contest is asking for the names of the paintings. Here is a suggestion to make the heading and subheading "read" a bit more fluidly:

Think You Know These Post-Impressionist Paintings?

Enter to win and Valspar will paint a room in your home with the Valspar specialty colors of your choice!

Notice that I'm changing the prize, and letting the winner choose more than 1 color for their room!

I look forward to seeing this printed and folded to completely understand how the panels work together.
